Odisha man kills aunt, surrenders before police with severed head

Baripada: In a horrifying incident, a 28-year-old man allegedly killed his aunt at Karakachia village under Khunta police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today and surrendered before police with her severed head.

According to reports, accused Budharam Singh’s four-year-old daughter had died a week ago following an illness. Budharam was suspecting that sorcery by his aunt Demphar Singh (60) led to his daughter’s death.

Around 11 AM today, he attacked Demphar with a sharp weapon at Nuasahi Chhak and severed her head from the body. Police arrested him when he was heading towards the police station holding the head.

A case has been registered in this connection and further probe was underway.
