Odisha: Man kills wife for not cooking mutton curry for him

Baripada: A man allegedly beat his wife to death after she refused to cook mutton curry for him. The shocking incident has been reported from Saleibeda village under Thakurmunda police limits in Mayurbhanj district late last night.

However, police have detained accused Girish Dehury and are interrogating him in this connection.

Sources said Girish reached the house late last night carrying raw meat and asked wife Bhuli to cook the same. An altercation broke out between the couple after the woman refused to cook the food. In a fit of rage, Girish picked up an iron pipe and went on beating his wife killing her on the spot.

This morning, some locals got to know about the incident and called up police. A police team reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.

Sources said the couple has a son and a daughter.
