Odisha man kills wife for opposing his liquor consumption

Keonjhar: A man allegedly murdered his wife at Mukta Sahi under Telkoi police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district last night after she opposed his liquor consumption.

According to reports, Tukura Juanga, the accused, returned home last night after having liquor. His wife Gurubari opposed his act following which he became furious and thrashed her with a lathi.

After sustaining injuries on her head, Gurubari fell down. Tukura then slitted her neck and mouth with a knife. The woman died on the spot due to profuse bleeding.

The accused fled the place after committing the crime. On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. Investigation into the incident is underway and efforts were on to nab the wrongdoer.
