Odisha man kills wife suspecting fidelity, gets caught by son during escape

Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, a person allegedly killed his wife suspecting her fidelity at Chandapur village under Parjang police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district but got caught by his son while trying to flee the area.

He was later handed over to police by his son.

According to reports, Gautam Nayak (48), the accused husband, and his wife Ranjita Nayak (42), the deceased, had gone to his in-laws’ house at the village on Saturday.

In order to ensure proper accommodation of the couple in the house, Ranjita’s mother Meki went to a neighbour’s place to sleep during the night.

Hours later, Meki heard her son-in-law calling her for help. After she reached the spot, he told her that Ranjita’s health condition has deteriorated and went away.

To her shock, Meki discovered her daughter Ranjita lying dead in a pool of blood with grievious injuries on face. She has alleged that Gautam crushed her daughter’s face with a stone leading to her death.

On the other hand, Gautam was caught by his son Ranjan, a truck driver by profession, yesterday while he was trying to escape the area crossing Brahmani river near Khairapani ghat.
