Odisha: Man put in lock-up on marriage fourth night for ‘betraying’ lover

Jagatsinghpur: Ditching ‘lover’ proved costly for a man of Madhusudanpur Sasan village under Sadar police limits in Jagatsinghpur district as police detained him following a complaint on the fourth night of his marriage with another woman .

As per the complaint, the man identified as Rabindra was in a love relationship with a woman, a divorcee and has a 6-year-old daughter, for the last two years. The woman, who works in a shopping mall in Bhubaneswar, had married seven years ago and was staying with her parents after splitting with her husband three years back.

However, Rabindra got married to another woman at Redhua village under Raghunathpur police station four days ago.

After knowing this, the divorcee woman along with her father lodged a complaint at Jagatsinghpur police station. She also produced pictures and video of her private moments with Rabindra before the cops as evidence.  Acting on the complaint, police picked up Rabindra from his house and later detained him along with the complainant for interrogation.

Investigation is on into the matter, said police.
