Odisha: Man run over by tanker in Jajpur

Jajpur:  In a tragic incident, a person was run over by a tanker while he was crossing the road near Jarka bus stand under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district today.

However, the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Sources said when the man aged around 45 years was crossing the road after getting off a bus at the Jarka bus stand at around 11.54 AM today, the speeding tanker ran over him killing him on the spot. The driver of the speeding tanker absconded after incident.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

An investigation is on into the incident, police said.
