Odisha: Man, son crushed to death by train

Balasore: In a tragic incident, a man and his four-year-old son were killed after being hit by a train while crossing a level crossing near Rupsa Railway Station in Jaleswar here today.

The deceased duo has been identified as Partharaju Pradhan (37) and his four-year-old son Khitish.

Sources said Partharaju and his family had been staying near the Rupsa railway station for a temporary period. At round 2 PM today, when the man, his wife and son were going towards Jakhapura crossing the level crossing,  a Shatabdi Express train hit them. When the woman managed to escape, the father and the son were crushed to death by the train.

On receiving information, Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and sent the bodies to hospital for post-mortem.
