Odisha man thrashes elder brother to death over petty issue

Keonjhar: A man allegedly thrashed his elder brother to death over a trivial issue at Mahuladiha village under Anandpur police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district late last night.

According to reports, a heated exchange of words erupted between Jiten Ho and his younger brother Samra Ho over a petty issue related to possession of a tree.

Losing his cool, Samra attacked Jiten with a plank resulting in his death on the spot. The accused also attacked the deceased’s wife and 10-year-old daughter after they opposed his act and tried to save Jiten.

The mother-daughter duo sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to Anandpur hospital.

Samar absconded after committing the crime. Police have started investigation into the incident and efforts were on to apprehend the accused.
