Odisha man thrashes wife to death for dancing at wedding ceremony

Balasore: In a highly shocking incident, a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death after she danced at a wedding ceremony in the locality at Paikapada village under Oupada police limits in Odisha's Balasore district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Sharmila Singh (30). Accused Ram Singh (35) has been arrested.

According to reports, Sharmila had gone to the wedding event and danced there. Infuriated over the matter, Ram attacked her with a crowbar.

Though the woman's two children rushed to the spot and took away the crowbar from his possession, he again attacked her with the handle of an axe, thrashing her to death.

On being informed about the killing, police reached the village and apprehended Ram. A case has been registered in this connection.
