Odisha man trampled to death by jumbo while collecting mushroom

Keonjhar: An elderly man was crushed to death by an elephant while he was collecting mushroom near Sendakapa village under Sadar Forest Range in Odisha’s Keonjhar district today.

The deceased has been identified as Palu Nayak. He had gone to a nearby forest this morning to pluck mushrooms.

In the meantime, he came in front of a tusker and the pachyderm trampled him to death on the spot. On being informed, Forest department staff reached the village and started a probe.

Worth mentioning, wild elephants had been creating panic in the area for the last few days.
