Odisha: Man uploads wife’s obscene pics on social media; arrested

Bhubaneswar: Cyber police arrested a man on charges of uploading obscene photographs of his wife on social media platform here.

The accused person has been identified as Saroj Kumar Das. He was apprehended by Bhubaneswar Cyber police from Chandbali area in Bhadrak district on Monday.

According to reports, Saroj was working as a plumber in Bhadrak and his wife was engaged as a domestic help at Mancheswar area in Bhubaneswar.

Source said that Saroj used to spend all his money on consuming alcohol and sometimes his wife was sending money to him whenever he asked for. In recent past, the couple confronted each other after wife stopped paying him for which the accused posted some obscene pictures of his wife on his Facebook handle which went viral.

One of the neighbours of Saroj’s wife in Bhubaneswar found those obscene photographs on Facebook and she informed the latter.

The victim lodged a complaint in this regard with Bhubaneswar DCP following which a case was registered at the Cyber Police Station.

Based on the complaint, the Cyber police arrested the accused under sections 383,420,498(A),509 of IPC and sections 67,67(A) of IT Act. He was forwarded to a local court here today.
