Odisha matric exam 2020 in Feb 3rd week, Plus II from March 2!

Bhubaneswar: Authorities are likely to conduct annual Matric and Plus II examinations in February and March respectively. However, the dates for the tests will be announced shortly.

While the matriculation examination is likely to begin from February third week, the theory papers of Plus II examinations in all the streams may start from March 2, official source said.

The date for the matriculation examination 2020 will be announced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) very soon, informed School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash at Lok Seva Bhawan yesterday.

A number of steps will be taken to curb malpractice during examination at the exam centres this year.

As per decision, the installation of CCTV cameras is mandatory at all the examination centres, failing which the school will be debarred  from conducting the examination. Like this year, mobile phone will be banned at the exam centres.

The Minister warned to take stringent action if any teacher or school staff is found with mobile phone at the exam centre.

Meanwhile, the authorities are planning to adopt a technique to make the Matriculation examination 2020 as malpractice-free. There will be security code on answer sheets and digital lock on the question papers to prevent the unscrupulous elements to leak the question papers and manipulate answers.

The security code will not be visible to anyone. If anyone tries to take take pictures of question paper on phone or photocopy it, an alert message will be sent to the admin following which the malpractice can be prevented, a BSE source said adding that an IT firm has been outsourced for execution of anti-malpractice system in matric examination next year.

Similarly, the annual Plus II examinations in Arts, Science and Commerce streams are likely to commence from March 2, 2020.

Though exact date for the examinations has not been announced, the authorities have set target to conduct the examination of theory papers from March 2 till 30 and the practical exam may start from January third week next year.

However, the examination for Vocational courses may start after March 15.

The final dates are likely to be approved in next two days after a meeting, a reliable source close to the development said.

Like this year, the CCTV installation is mandatory at colleges to bring transparency in conducting the exam next year. Around 300 colleges have applied for conducting the annual exam so far.
