Odisha Matric exam 2021: Here’s how marks are likely to be awarded

Bhubaneswar: With the cancellation of the Odisha Matric examinations-2021, which was scheduled to be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), confusion prevails among the students regarding the method for awarding of marks for the all-important exams.

The marks are likely to be allotted on the basis of four pre-board (practise) exams conducted at school level during the 100 days of classroom teaching for the class-X students. Highest mark scored by a student in the four exams will be awarded to him/her for the Matric exams, sources said.

The state government will make a formal announcement in this regard, sources added.

However, out of the 6.19 lakh class-X students, around 5.5 lakh of them appeared for the practise exams. Plans are being chalked out to formulate a criteria for awarding marks to such students.

Worth mentioning, the Odisha Government yesterday announced cancellation of the Matric examinations in view of the second wave of COVID-19.
