Odisha Matric exam results likely in May second week

Cuttack: In the wake of Cyclone FANI in Odisha, the results of annual matriculation examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE) are likely to be announced in second week of May.

As the matric results are getting delayed due to no power supply caused by FANI, the authorities are planning to declare the results after May 10, a senior Board official said yesterday.

The evaluation of answer sheets was concluded on April 5 and the processing was underway to declare the results in April last week along with addressing various issues after the evaluation, he said.

Later, the BSE President Jahan Ara Begum informed that results of matric exam will be announced in May first week.

However, the preparation was disrupted due to extremely severe cyclonic storm FANI that hit the coastal Odisha on May 3.

Notably, total 5,87,720 students had appeared in the matric examination held on Feb 22 till March 8 at 2953 centres.
