Odisha Matric, Plus Two exams likely to be held this year: Minister Samir Dash

Bhubaneswar: Matric and Plus Two examinations are likely to be held in Odisha this year, said School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

“Currently, there is a downward trend in COVID-19 cases in Odisha. Considering the present situation, Matric and Plus Two examinations should be held for the year 2022. The decision might be changed if the situation deteriorates in future,” said Dash.

The students should remain prepared for the examinations, he added.

Matric examinations for the year 2021 were cancelled in view of the second wave of COVID-19. The results were prepared on the basis of an objective criterion developed by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.

Similarly, the Plus Two examinations were also cancelled last year over the same reason.

Notably, Summative Assessment-I for the students of Class-10 was conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) at 3,093 examination centres across the state with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols between January 5 and January 8, this year.

As many as 5,76,223 students had registered themselves for the exams.

Earlier, the examinations were scheduled to begin on December 27, 2021. However, BSE later postponed the exams to January 5, 2022.
