Odisha medical officer put under quarantine after staff tests COVID-19 positive

Rayagada: Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) in Rayagada was put under home quarantine after a positive case of COVID-19 was reported at office today.

Source said that district medical officer and all the staff have been sent on home quarantine after a Vaccine officer at CDMO office tested positive for COVID-19.

Besides, the CDMO office has been sanitised. The district authorities have declared the area, where the infected medical official was residing, as containment zone to prevent spread of infection. The patient has been shifted to the COVID Hospital for treatment.

The vaccine officer was among 4 tested positive for COVID-19 in Rayagada district. The remaining 3 infected persons are locals with a travel history.

Source said that the three had recently returned from Delhi. They were tested positive at a temporary medical camp (TMC).

With 4 fresh cases reported today, the total number in Rayagada district rose to 7 with all active cases so far.
