Bhubaneswar: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) said inaugural ceremony of the Men’s Hockey World Cup will be held in two phases. While the first would be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Odisha capital on November 27, the second one would be held at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on November 28.
A decision in this regard was taken on Friday after a meeting was held here this afternoon chaired by Minister of Sports and Youth Services Chandra Sarathi Behera, attended by other officials involved in conducting the event.
In the meeting, it was decided that tickets for the opening ceremony will be sold online only by the Hockey India.
FIH President Narinder Batra, in a statement, said online tickets for the inaugural ceremony of (the Men’s Hockey World Cup) scheduled at the Kalinga Stadium here would be announced 48 hours in advance.
According to FIH, while 12,000 tickets would be available for Kalinga Stadium, 30,000 will be sold for the opening ceremony at Barabati Stadium.
Batra further informed that there will be no Pass system and all have to purchase the tickets from the official ticket operator to watch the star-studded opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony of the event will feature live performances by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman and celebrated lyricist-poet Gulzar, among others.
