Odisha Minister, MP shifted to COVID hospital after breathing difficulty

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha Textiles, Handlooms and Handicrafts Minister Padmini Dian and her husband Sadashib Dian and Nabarangpur MP Ramesh Chandra Majhi, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier last week, were shifted to COVID hospital in the state capital after they complained of difficulty in breathing.

Minister Dain, her husband, son and nephew tested positive for the virus on September 3. Following which they were under home isolation. 

Last night, when the legislator and her husband faced difficulty in breathing  they were shifted to Jeypore COVID hospital and again to SUM COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The Nabarangpur MP, who was also under home isolation from September 4, has been shifted to COVID hospital here after developing breathing difficulty.

Meanwhile, Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has been admitted to SUM COVID Hospital after his swab reports came out positive.

It is pertinent to mention that till date 18  MLAs, including Bhubaneswar (North) legislator Susant Rout, Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda, Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray, Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik have tested positive for the virus.

Besides, six Ministers, including Sushanta Singh, Tukuni Sahu and Arun Sahoo have contracted the virus.
