Bhubaneswar: Odisha Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra travelled on Mo Bus here to review the city bus services in Bhubaneswar.
Accompanied by CRUT (Capital Region Urban Transport) Managing Director Arun Bothra, the cabinet minister purchased the ticket and travelled on Mo Bus from Master Canteen to Gadakan bus depot.
During the journey, Mahapatra interacted with passengers and inquired about safety measures to protect passengers during emergencies.
This was the first ride on Mo Bus for the BJP leader after assuming the charge as the minister in Mohan Charan Majhi's cabinet in Odisha.
"This is the people's government. Practically, we can know the passengers' issues if we travel on the bus. We will operate more buses on routes where many people regularly opt for bus services. We will also consider operating the bus on those routes where the service is not available in the city," he said terming Mo Bus as 'Ama Bus' service.
The minister revealed that the Centre will provide 400 e-buses to Odisha under a central scheme to augment transport system in the state.
However, the government will operate the e-buses in view of passengers' necessity on different routes, he clarified.
He advised Mo Bus employees to behave properly with passengers to evade inconveniences occurring during journey.
