Odisha: Minor boy caught behind wheels; father coughs up Rs 25k fine

Rayagada: A man today coughed up Rs 25,000 fine as his minor son was caught by staff of the Regional Transport Office and police driving a four-wheeler in Ring Road of Rayagada town. Under the new Motor Vehicles Act, guardians or vehicle owners shall be held guilty in case a juvenile drives a vehicle more than 50 cc.

As per reports, the 13-year-old son of the man, Sk Kafiruddin was driving a Santro vehicle along with another minor boy at a high speed. Locals immediately informed the RTO staff and police about the speeding car.

After reaching the spot, the officials took the juvenile driver and vehicle to the RTO office. In the meantime, parents of the minor boy reached the RTO office and paid the fine.
