Joda: A day after a teenager reportedly ended his life following his family’s reprimand for playing games on a mobile phone in Odisha’s Khordha district, another minor boy died allegedly by suicide in Keonjhar district last night for denied a new mobile phone.
The deceased, aged 15 years was a resident of Joda slum in Keonjhar district. After receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem.
A police official said, the minor boy requested his father to get him a new mobile phone. But when the boy’s father refused to fulfil the demand, the minor became disheartened.
Last night the minor hung himself from the ceiling of his house with a ‘gamucha’ when family members were away, the police official added.
Police registered an unnatural death case and initiated an investigation.
Yesterday, a 13-year-old boy of Gadamanati village under Begunia police limits in Khordha district allegedly ended his life after being rebuked by his mother for playing game on a mobile phone.
