Odisha: Miraculous escape for two as flood water sweeps away car

Sundargarh: Himanshu Nayak and Chinmay Dash of Chhend Colony in Odisha’s Rourkela city had a narrow escape as a car in which they were travelling was swept away by flood water while the two managed to survive.

According to reports, the duo was heading towards Angul from Rourkela in the vehicle late last night. Flood water flowing above a canal bridge at Sianj on Bonai-Bahadaposhi road in Sundargarh district swept away the car as the two started panicking.

They managed to open the doors of the car and came out of the vehicle by holding branches of two different trees. Luckily, Himanshu’s mobile phone was in working condition despite the mishap. He contacted his family members who in turn informed the police about the incident.

Later, Fire personnel reached the place and rescued the two. Their condition was stated to be stable. However, the car was yet to be traced.
