Odisha: Miscreants ransack temple, damage idols

Jagatsinghpur: In a bizarre incident, miscreants allegedly ransacked a temple by damaging the idols late on Thursday night in Jagatsinghpur district.

The devotees found the idols of a Goddess, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shani broken on premises of Tumbeswar Temple in the morning today.

The prima facie suggested that some miscreants under inebriated state might have damaged the idols after hitting those hard with a weapon at the temple.

Strongly reacting to the incident, the locals approached the police demanding probe and stern action against the wrongdoers.

In recent past years, an idol theft incident was reported from Devi Dola Maa Kutamachandi Temple at the same locality. However, the police are yet to get clue about the robbers.
