Odisha: Missing woman’s body found hanging from tree

Sonepur: Mystery shrouded the death of a married woman, whose body was found hanging from a tree at Saulpur village under Binika police limits in Sonepur district today.

The deceased has been identified as Chera Karna (40) of Gulunda village.

Sources said Chera went missing 18 days ago. After failing to find the woman, her family members lodged a complaint at Binika police station on July 5 alleging that she has been kidnapped by a neighbour named Adhikari Mahakur. The cops detained Mahakur for integration and had later released him.

This morning, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for post-mortem. Police said the autopsy report will reveal the truth behind the incident.
