Odisha: ‘Mission Zero F’ takes off in Cuttack on pilot basis

Cuttack: With an aim to implement ‘Mission Zero F’ programme in Cuttack district as 120 days are left for the Matriculation exam this academic year, the District Education Officer has issued strict guidelines for the Block Education Officers and headmasters and headmistresses.

In a letter to the BEOs written on October 3, headmasters and headmistresses, the DEO stated that without a written permission from the Block Education Officers, teachers taking classes at Class-X cannot take a casual leave. The teachers have been asked not to take leaves other than the government calendar holidays.

This apart, BEOs will ensure that classes are taken regularly and students get their doubts cleared. The BEOs were asked to form groups of headmasters and headmistresses in WhatsApp and monitor the daily progress of study of Class-X students.

If a headmaster or headmistress succeeds in ensuring ‘Mission Zero F’ in his/her school this academic year, the concerned teacher will be rewarded, the letter mentioned.

The ‘Mission Zero F’ which is part of the 5T principle of the State government is being implemented on a pilot basis in Cuttack. The School and Mass Education’s move came after 82 schools across the State reported zero pass result in Matriculation exam last academic year.
