Odisha MLA Ananta Das’ brother Achyuta Nandan Das quits BJD

Bhograi (Balasore): Bhograi MLA Ananta Das’ brother Achutya Nandan Das quit the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the last phase of elections in Odisha.

Achyuta Nandan Das is also referred to as ‘Chanakya’ of BJD’s Bhograi politics. He resigned from the party alleging ‘ignorance’ by the BJD’s MLA candidate Goutambuddha Das.

With only a week left for the 4th phase of the Odisha Elections, the resignation of Achyuta Das is likely to result in a huge loss for the BJD in Bhograi.

Achyuta Nandan Das was the chief poll strategist of his brother BJD MLA Ananta Das since 2004. However, he alleged the BJD as well as Goutambuddha Das, the party’s Assembly candidate from Bhograi under Balasore Parliamentary Constituency, of neglecting him in the elections.

Bhograi will go to poll on June 1 in last phase of elections in Odisha. While BJD has fielded Goutambuddha Das as its MLA candidate, BJP’s Ashish Patra and Congress’ Satya Shiba Das are fighting from the Assembly seat.
