Odisha MLA Santosh Singh Saluja’s son’s arrest: Rs 19 lakh cash, liquor seized from gym

Balangir: Hours after arrest of Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja’s son Seji Singh Saluja in connection with an assault case, Balangir police seized Rs 19 lakh cash and liquor from his gym last night, sources informed today.

The accused underwent medical examination at Belpada Community Health Centre (CHC) this morning. He will be forwarded to a local court today.

According to reports, some people had created a ruckus inside Alishan Cinema Hall at Kantabanji a few days ago. Seji Singh, the son of Kantabanji MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, was present at the movie theatre during ruckus.

Reportedly, the legislator’s son indulged into argument with a police personnel during the ruckus. The video showing the incident went viral on social media following which the police arrested him.

He was booked under sections 384, 506 and 353 of the IPC and various sections of the Arms Act.

Sources said that no weapon has been seized from his possession so far.
