Odisha MLA Sukanta Nayak returns to BJD fold

Bhubaneswar: After Chiranjib Biswal, Nilagiri MLA Sukanta Kumar Nayak joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after quitting the BJP in Odisha.

The ex-BJP leader returned to the BJD fold with thousands of supporters during a programme at Shankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

The two-time Nilagiri legislator had tendered his resignation to Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal on Friday.

Sukanta Nayak had won Assembly polls twice from Nilagiri in Balasore district in 2014 and 2019 on BJD and BJP tickets respectively.
