Odisha MLA tests positive for COVID-19

Balasore: A member of Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) from Balasore district has tested positive for COVID-19, informed CDMO Dulalsen Jagatdeo today.

“The swab sample of MLA was sent for test two days back and the result came out positive,” the CDMO told reporters.

The MLA will be admitted to a COVID hospital shortly.

The contact tracing and active surveillance drive will begin from tomorrow, Jagatdeo said.

It is to be mentioned that 14 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in  Balasore district in last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 412 with 86 active cases so far. Till today, two COVID-19 patients have died due to other health complications in the district and the number of recovered cases now stands at 324.
