Bhubaneswar: Odisha-Mo Parivar extended a helping hand to the bereaved family of Raghu Singh to perform his last rites in the capital city here.

Singh, a native of Boudh district of Odisha, was working as a mason in Jharpada area of the city for last several days. Singh was the sole bread earner for his family comprising his mother, sister and two children.

Singh died from a cardiac arrest today. His family was facing a tough task to perform his last rites, sources said.

Members of Jaga Chakara Sangha informed the incident to former corporator Bhanupriya Das, who immediately contacted Biju Janata Dal (Odisha-Mo Parivar) state joint secretary Rudra Narayan Samantray.

Samantray met Singh’s family at Capital Hospital and arranged a ‘Shesa Sathi’ hearse van of Jay Odisha to carry the body to Satya Nagar cremation ground.

The mortal remains of Singh were consigned to flames in the presence of members of Odisha-Mo Parivar and Jaga Chakara Sangh.
