Bhubaneswar: Members of the Odisha-Mo Parivar celebrated the first day of Raja festival—Pahili Raja—in a novel way today. They visited the Jibana Jyoti Ashram located in Khandagiri area of the city and celebrated the Pahili Raja with the girl inmates.
Yesterday, on the occasion of ‘Saja Baja’ day, the members of the Odisha-Mo Parivar applied mehendi on hands of more than 50 girl inmates. Also, they arranged hairdressers and new dresses for the girls.
At around 10 am today, the members of the Odisha-Mo Parivar along with its convener and his wife visited the Jibana Jyoti Ashram and distributed varieties of pitha (cake) and fruits among the inmates.
Song and dance performance of some inmates won the heart of the audience during the celebration.
Music Director Manmath Mishra presented a harmonium and mike attached with a speaker to the ashram’s founder, Prafulla Senapati to help the inmates practice song and dance well.
Advisor to Odisha-Mo Parivar and Senior advocate of Supreme Court, Abani Sahu; Secretary, Durga Samantray; Joint Secretary, Rudra Narayan Samantray and other social activists celebrated the Pahili Raja with the inmates in a different way.
