Odisha: Monsoon touches most parts, to cover rest in 2 days

Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Odisha except six districts, the Regional Meteorological Centre said today.

The monsoon has covered most districts of Odisha except some parts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj. Conditions are becoming favorable for further advancement of monsoon into remaining parts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, it said.

Heavy rainfall warning has been issued for several districts of Odisha till June 14.

June 12: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, and Angul.

June 13: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Ganjam and Nayagarh.

June 14: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Nabarangpur.
