Cuttack: In a humanitarian gesture, Member of Parliament (MP) from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur Rajashree Mallick turned Good Samaritan and rushed to a fellow passenger’s rescue after the latter suddenly started having seizures mid-air in the flight to Delhi today.

As per reports, Mallik was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Delhi when one of the passengers onboard reportedly had an epileptic attack just over 30 minutes before landing.

While the patient’s identity is not known yet, it was learnt that he belonged to Ganjam district in Odisha. As his seizures got worse and he became unconscious, Mallik asked the flight staff for immediate help and also appealed for assistance from passengers if any of them happened to be medical professionals. However, without wasting any more time, Mallik rushed to the patient’s rescue and provided preliminary assistance after which the patient regained consciousness.

Soon after the flight landed at Delhi airport, Mallick ensured that the patient was immediately shifted to the nearest hospital for treatment. Following the incident, the MP’s noble gesture drew praise from the flight authorities, crew staff and other fellow passengers.
