Odisha: Murder accused escapes from police custody

Bhubaneswar: A person, accused in a murder case, reportedly escaped from police custody in Odisha’s Koraput district today.

According to sources, accused Rahul Bagh of Hinaguda area escaped from the custody of Koraput Town police in the evening.

Rahul was on the run for around a year after committing the crime. The victim’s family somehow captured him today. He was later handed over to police, sources said.

“The murder accused escaped from the custody of Koraput Town police within an hour of his arrest,” said a source.

The police have launched a search operation to trace the accused, it added.
