The team, after having a night halt at the Shankareswar temple yesterday, began their yatra in the early morning hours and reached the Deuli mutt after three hours covering a distance of about 18 km on bare foot.

The team, on the fifth-day of the yatra, will have a night halt at the Deuli mutt and leave for Kakatpur on the next day.

“As per the tradition, we would send chitau (letter) to the servitors of Maa Mangala temple about our arrival today. After receiving our letter, they would arrive at the Deuli mutt at 9 AM tomorrow and welcome us to the Maa Mangala temple where we would perform the majana ritual and yagna of the Goddess. After the ritual, we would return to Deuli mutt and perform yagna and a series of rituals including the Swapneswar Mantra (hymn) to receive the order from the Goddess about the location of daru. After receiving the the swapnadesh of the Goddess, we would leave the place in search of daru (log) for the Lords”, said Jayakrushna Dasmohapatra, a senior Banajaga team member.

Several people of the locality welcomed the Banajaga team members after they arrived at the Deuli mutt.

The district administration has made adequate security arrangements in around the mutt while the media is not allowed to enter into the mutt premises.
