Odisha Nabakalebara: Banajaga team leaves for Shankareswar temple

The Daitapati servitors of Shri Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri town, on the fourth day of the Banajaga Yatra, left the Muktakash Ranga Manch (open air theatre) at Konark this evening for Shankareswar temple at Narua on the bank of Prachi river.

Shankareswar templeAs informed by a young Daitapati servitor, the team had decided to leave Konark in the midnight. However, it changed its decision after it received the order from the Lord Sudarsan to set out the yatra in the evening.

“We had decided to leave the place at midnight. But as we received the order from Lord Sudarsan, we changed our schedule and began our journey at 5.50 PM,” he added.

As scheduled, the Banajaga team would stay at the temple tonight and leave for Deuli mutt at Kakatpur in the early morning hours tomorrow.

The district administration has arranged Mahaprasad for the Banajaga Yatris at Shankareswar temple.

The Banajaga team members, during their stay at Shankareswar temple, would perform yagna and rituals of Lord Siva.

The Banajaga team, after reaching the Deuli mutt at Kakatpur tomorrow, will perform the majana ritual at Maa Mangala temple.

The team would later leave Kakatpur in search of daru (log) for the Lords as per the swapnadesh of the Goddess.

The Banajaga team had arrived at the Muktakash Ranga Manch at Konark temple premises after it left the Ramchandi temple in the early morning today.
