Bhubaneswar: The newly-built Netaji Bus Terminal in Odisha’s Cuttack city would be thrown open to public on September 16.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will dedicate the new bus terminal to people, said Cuttack Mayor Subash Chandra Singh today.

Trial run will be conducted at the new bus terminal from September 13, he added.

The state government has constructed Netaji Bus Terminal on around 15 acres of land at Khannagar in the Silver City with an expenditure of Rs 70 crore.

Patnaik had laid the foundation for Netaji Bus Terminal on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on January 23, 2021.

The terminal has been equipped with all modern facilities including bus bays and designated parking place for hassle-free movement of passengers.

The state government has recently announced that the first state-of-the-art Aahaar (cheap meal) centre will come up at Netaji Bus Terminal in Cuttack.

The Aahaar centre will have all facilities to accommodate around 1,000 people at a time. The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) will spend Rs 1.8 crore for the purpose, sources said.
