Odisha: Naveen names new office bearers of BJD

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik announced a list of party’s state office bearers along with its youth wing and observers for ongoing polls, today.

Bhubaneswar-North MLA Bijay Kumar Mohanty, former OPCC secretary Pramod Kishore Jena and ex-Congress leader Sarada Prasanna Jena have been made state general secretaries and Dhenkanal Regional Improvement Trust (DRIT) chairman Devi Prasad Bhutia, Harshvardhan Singh Deo, former MLA Shashi Kumar Sahoo and Durga Prasad Samantaray are the new state secretaries of the conch party.

While Bijay Mohanty has also been appointed as observer of Bhubaneswar organisational district, Durga Samantaray was announced as co-observer of Bhubaneswar-North assembly constituency.

BJD state secretary Sudhir Kumar Das has been named observer of Kantamal assembly constituency in Boudh district. Star campaigner Amaresh Patri has been declared as co-observer for Kendrapara.

Balasore district got new BJD office bearers in the form of Sushil Ray as co-observer, Bhuvanada Das and former Balasore zilla parishad president Girish Chandra Das as district vice presidents and Manoj Kumar Rout, Ashish Ghosh and Arun Chatterjee as district secretaries.

Similarly, Mihira Ranjan Das of Cuttack was given the responsibility of being the state vice president of Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Lohit Kumar Mohanty was appointed district working president of Kendrapara.

Furthermore, the suspension of former Deogarh MLA Sanjeev Kumar Pradhan has been revoked, informed BJD general secretary Bijaya Nayak in a press release.
