Cuttack: Trouble mounted for MP Anubhav Mohanty after the court of JMFC issued a Non-Bailable Warrant against him after the actor-turned-politician repeatedly failed to appear for framing of charges in connection with allegations of domestic violence by former wife Varsha Priyadarshini. The court has directed execution of the NBW by May 23.
As per reports, Anubhav had sought time through his lawyer for appearing before the court citing personal reasons. Earlier too he had failed to make an appearance on similar grounds.
In December 2020, Varsha had filed a complaint at Purighat Police Station accusing Anubhav of locking her up in a room at his house in Nandi Sahi here. Acting on the complaint, police had registered a case under Section 498A, 341 and 506 of the IPC.
In February this year, the Orissa High Court had allowed the divorce of the celebrity couple after quashing the order of the family court.
Anubhav had accused Varsha of refusing to consummate the marriage and mental cruelty through her conduct towards him and his family members.
