Odisha: New Director of Sports assumes office

Bhubaneswar:  IAS officer Siddhartha Das today assumed office as the Director of Sports under the department of Sports & Youth Services in Odisha.

After taking the charge, Das called on Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera and discussed various issues regarding the development of sports sector in the state.

Later, Das visited various facilities and High Performance Centers located at Kalinga Stadium in the capital city here and held discussions with the officials concerned, sources said.

Notably, the state government yesterday appointed Das as the Director of Sports in Odisha. Das was earlier working as the Additional Secretary to Finance department with the additional charge of Additional Director at the Directorate of Treasuries and Inspection in the state.
