Odisha: Newborn girl with ant bite marks on body rescued from roadside

Dhenkanal: A newborn girl with ant bite marks on her body was found abandoned on roadside near a forest in Kamakshyanagar of Dhenkanal district this morning. She was later admitted to hospital for treatment.

Sources said one Siddhant Mallick, a local, first spotted the newborn lying on roadside with her body beaten by ants. Mallick rescued the baby and immediately admitted her to Anlabareni community health centre (CHC). She was undergoing treatment till the last reports came in.

Doctors at the hospital said health condition of the newborn is not stable. However, efforts are on to save her.
