Bhubaneswar: A student of NIT-Rourkela reportedly drowned while taking bath in a waterfall in Bisra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Begaria Adarsh (20), a second year Integrated MSc student at NIT-Rourkela.

Adarsh and along with nine of his friends had visited Akshayshila waterfall in Bisra area yesterday. He went missing while taking bath in the waterfall in the afternoon, sources said.

On being informed, a few locals tried their best to trace the missing youth but failed.

The police along with the Fire Brigade today launched an operation and recovered his body.

“We have seized the body and sent it to a morgue at government hospital in Rourkela. We have informed the incident to the deceased student’s family in Telangana. The postmortem will be conducted once his family members reach Rourkela,” said a police officer.
