The committee was formed a day after students of NIT alleged sexual harassment of the lady security officer by the institution’s chief security officer Balaram Champatiray. The committee had submitted its preliminary report within two days of its formation.
An FIR was lodged by the students at the Sector-3 police station here against Champatiray on May 28. However, police are yet to arrest the erring official, who went absconding after the incident came to fore.
"Though five police teams have been formed to nab Champatiray, it is difficult to ascertain his location as he has kept his mobile phone switched off," DSP P.K Mishra had informed.
It is suspected that the chief security officer might have taken shelter at a relative's house in Bangalore, sources said.
