Odisha: No public darshan at Jagannath temple for 4 hours on Oct 5

Bhubaneswar: Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri town will remain shut for devotees for four hours for Banakalagi ritual on October 5 (Thursday).

This was revealed by an official of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today.

“The Banakalagi ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra would be held on October 5 (tomorrow). The 12th century shrine will remain closed for devotees from 5 pm to 9 pm on the day,” said the official.

The servitors of Jagannath temple will perform Banakalagi ritual soon after the completion of Bhogamandap ritual, he added.
