Odisha: Noted singer Pranab Patnaik suffers from health-related complications

Bhubaneswar: Eminent singer Pranab Patnaik has been suffering from health-related complications and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, a source said today.

Acting on an instruction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a team of delegates met the ailing singer in the health facility and conveyed a message of the CM wishing the latter a speedy recovery.

The team handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the renowned singer as assistance money for his treatment, a member of the delegation expressed.

The delegation comprised Odisha Film Development Corporation Chairman Satyabrata Tripathy, Odia Language Literature & Culture department Director Dilip Routrai, Joint Director Subodh Chandra Acharya, and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Secretary Prabodh Rath.

Born on January 20, 1938, the singer was highly inspired by his father Late Lal Mohan Patnaik (former speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly). He has lent his voice to Odishi, folk, devotional, semi-classical, traditional, Hindi and ghazal song numbers.
