Odisha: Notorious gangster Tito sent to jail

Kendrapara: Notorious gangster Syed Usman Ali, alias Tito was sent to Barimul jail in Odisha’s Kendrapara district after being produced before a court here today.

The gangster was produced before the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court court here by the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch following the end of his three-day remand.

Tito said he is innocent and he has been framed by some persons while speaking to reporters outside the court.

The STF, has so far, taken the dreaded gangster on total twelve days of remand in three phases for interrogation on his criminal activities and amassing properties worth above Rs 100 crores.

Sources in the Crime Branch said the STF might take the gangster on remand again for further interrogation to know more about his crime syndicate.

Acting as per the directions of the STF, banks have already blocked and freezed of five accounts in name of Tito in Kendrapara.

Earlier, the STF officials had also interrogated Tito’s wife Benazir Bibi at her residence at Dilarpur in the district over owning two petrol pumps and a luxurious car.

It may be noted here the STF had arrested Tito following an encounter in Jajpur district on June 30.
