Odisha okays online classes for Plus Two students on YouTube

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to conduct online classes for Plus Two students on YouTube, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

“Classes for +2 first year students are yet to commence as admission process is underway. For +2 second year students who opted not to attend offline classes in classrooms, we have decided to webcast the same for them on YouTube,” the minister said.

Schedule and timing of the online classes will be notified soon, he added.

The government had earlier decided that classes will be shot and webcasted from seven higher secondary schools– BJB Higher Secondary School, Bhubaneswar; Rama Devi Women’s Higher Secondary School, Bhubaneswar; Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Cuttack; SCS Higher Secondary School, Puri; Khallikote Higher Secondary School; MPC Higher Secondary School, Baripada and FM Higher Secondary School, Balasore.

The principals of the seven higher secondary schools were directed to select a room of average size with proper lighting, AC and sufficient electric fittings for plugs.

The principals have been permitted to spend Rs 50,000 from the HSS development funds with proper approval of an in-house committee to procure AC and electric fittings.
