Odisha on high alert after surgical strikes in PoK

High alert has been sounded across Odisha following the surgical strike by Indian Armed Forces in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), informed DGP KB Singh today.

The state was put on high alert after discussions between Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik about the surgical strike, Singh said.

Strict vigil has been kept on Biju Patnaik International Airport here, railway stations, bus stands, Hirakud and other dams, Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur and Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. Quick Reaction Team (QRT) and Special Tactical Unit (STU) have been engaged to keep a sharp eye on movement of people at these locations, he said.

Security has been tightened at major entry points and checking of vehicles has started, the top cop added.
