Odisha: OPD, routine surgery closed at this govt hospital

Sambalpur: OPD and routine surgery have been closed at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in Odisha’s Sambalpur district for COVID-19 containment, an official order said.

However, casualty and emergency surgery will continue at VIMSAR during the period of restriction. Only referral and emergency cases will be admitted to the hospital. Campus main gate will be guarded by police. Only emergency patients and staff will be allowed to enter the campus, the order said.

Only one attendant will be allowed to accompany each patient, the order added.
