Odisha: OSSSC exam for LI recruitment not to be cancelled over Cyclone Gulab

Berhampur: The exam to be conducted by the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) for LI recruitment will not be cancelled in Ganjam district today over Cyclone Gulab, informed Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.

“The OSSSC exam for LI recruitment scheduled today at 2:30-5:00 pm WILL NOT be cancelled,” the official tweeted.

“Necessary arrangements of buses have been done at exam centres. Accommodation with food will be arranged, if required in Berhampur. For further information, please contact 8117055900,” the Collector informed.

Cyclone Gulab is likely to cross north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur around midnight of September 26.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Red Warning for as many as seven districts of Odisha, including Ganjam, in view of Cyclone Gulab.

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls at one or two places very likely to occur over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri,” the IMD forecasted and issued Red Warning for the districts.

It has also issued Orange and Yellow warnings for several districts in connection with the cyclonic storm.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places very likely to occur over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, and Kalahandi.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, and Nuapada.
